The deadline for submission of applications is June 3, 2021.
Foto Tallinn is dedicated to presenting a wide range of contemporary photography. The fair offers national and international galleries, artists working with the medium of photography and project spaces a platform for collaboration, meetings and discussions. At the fair, exhibiting artists, collectives, galleries and project spaces can introduce selected works to a diverse audience and grow their network of professional contacts.
Fair participants will be selected by an international jury, led by Foto Tallinn 2021 curator Isabella van Marle: “I am thrilled to be appointed as curator of the 10th edition of Foto Tallinn. After a long pause for art fairs, biennials and exhibitions around the world — with many cultural platforms forced to postpone their activities — the opportunity to curate the Foto Tallinn fair comes at a particularly special time. I look forward to welcoming artists and galleries from across the globe, as well as to presenting an impression of the diverse landscape of contemporary photography to our audiences in Tallinn.”
Partners of Foto Tallinn 2021 are Sunly and Artproof. Renewable energy company and clean-tech investor Sunly will acquire artworks from the Foto Tallinn art fair which will be included in the company’s art collection. With this purchase, Sunly wishes to support artists, and it aims to encourage companies and organizations to develop their contemporary art collections. Artproof will sponsor a production grant for one participating artist at Foto Tallinn to create a new project for the fair.
Foto Tallinn 2021, organised collaboratively by the Estonian Union of Photography Artists and the Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center, is one of the main events of the 6th Tallinn Photomonth contemporary art biennial taking place between September 1 and October 17, 2021. The fair takes place during the opening week of the biennial, and it is set to bring a variety of international and professional audiences to Tallinn.
Foto Tallinn is kindly supported by the European Regional Development Fund, Cultural Endowment of Estonia and Tallinn Culture & Sport Department.
