ECADC successfully concluded the development program for art institutions
The Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center (ECADC) wrapped up a six-month development program at the end of November. The program aimed to help art institutions and organizations develop sustainable strategies and operational models for long-term growth.
The program brought together 12 art institutions and initiatives, including Artrovert Gallery, the Estonian Union of Photography Artists FOKU, the Association of Estonian Printmakers, elektron.art, Evald Okas Museum, Juhan Kuus Documentary Photo Centre, Kogo Gallery, KORDON, Laivi, Lugemik Publishing, Valge Kuup Studio, and Viimsi Artium.
Starting in May, six in-depth workshops were held at Kai Art Center led by consultants from Creativity Lab, including Jorma Sarv and Marju Sokman, as well as experts from the consulting agency Miltton, including Diana Paakspuu, Jaano Inno, and Jolanda Lipu. The workshops focused on key areas such as strategic planning, marketing, communication, sales strategies, financial management, and sustainability, providing participants with practical knowledge and tools.
Participants learned to create effective strategic plans, design targeted marketing and sales approaches, prepare balanced budgets, and implement responsible and sustainable management principles. These workshops provided actionable insights and skills that could be immediately applied to their daily operations, contributing to the long-term development of their organizations.
In addition to the workshops, the program featured regular interim seminars led by Kadi-Ell Tähiste, head of the Estonian Association of Art Institutions (KAEL), and art expert Maarin Ektermann. Each participant also benefited from personalized mentoring sessions where they discussed specific challenges and goals tailored to their organizations. This individualized approach ensured that participants could directly implement their newly found knowledge and skills within their organizations.
ECADC extends its gratitude to all partners and participants whose dedication and enthusiasm made the program a success. The program’s comprehensive approach balanced strategic vision with practical solutions, which participants highly valued. We look forward to seeing how these new skills and insights will enrich the Estonian art landscape and inspire innovative and sustainable practices in the sector.
The development program was part of ECADC project “Supporting Estonian Art Business” co-financed by the European Union.
