HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!

 

 

 

TALLINN AS NEW ART CITY

 

ECADC is back from Miami where our partner gallery Temnikova & Kasela successfully presented two artists – Kris Lemsalu and Merike Estna. Phaidon not only mentioned these Estonian Academy of Arts graduates in this year’s NADA highlights but featured Tallinn as a new art city to watch. Looking back on 2013, it has definitely been a great year for a group of artists who have called Tallinn home. In March, Katja Novitskova was chosen as a “Future Great” by ArtReview critic Laura McLean-Ferris, recent Royal College of Art MA graduate Katrin Koskaru was awarded the Valerie Beston Artist’s Trust Award with an exhibition to follow next year, and Henkel Art Award winner Marge Monko’s solo show opened in October at MUMOK in Vienna.

Our gallery internship program for 2013 is drawing to a close. Four young professionals received practical training in Glasgow, New York, Berlin, and London, gaining experience for their future careers. We asked Merilin Talumaa, who has been interning at carlier gebauer in Berlin, to interview  Sandra Veinla, who is doing her internship at Tom Cole and Hollybush Gardens in London.
