Katrin Koskaru and Sam Martineau participating at NADA Cologne 2015

On Wednesday, April 15th NADA Collaborations will open in Cologne with first-time participant Katrin Koskaru, who is represented by the Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center (ECADC).

NADA Collaborations is the first joint project between ECADC and New York-based gallery Rawson Projects, which works mostly with emerging artists. Both participating artists – Sam Martineau and Katrin Koskaru – take inspiration from the previous century’s legacy in design and architecture from the perspective of their individual geographic and cultural landscapes.

Katrin Koskaru holds a BA degree in Fine Art from the Estonian Academy of Arts, Tallinn and an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London (2013). The artist has been living in Paris since 2014. Koskaru’s recent exhibitions include “Come to Close Quarters” at Marlborough London and PA(Y)S(S)AGES at Pascaline Mulliez Gallery in Paris.

Sam Martineau was born in 1973 in Springfield Ohio. NY. Martineau holds an MA in Painting from BARD College, New York. He lives and works in Brooklyn.  His recent one-person exhibitions include “Fair Touching”, CCAD, Columbus, Ohio. Martineau’s show “Just Step s’ways” at Rawson Projects on Lower East Side, NY is open until May 3, 2015.

New Art Dealers Association (NADA) in Cologne is the third edition of the fair, in addition to New York and Miami, and is taking place in collaboration with one of the oldest art fairs in Europe – Art Cologne. This collaborative format extends to the galleries, which either present curated booths shared by two galleries or single galleries present joint projects, fostering a dialogue between different generations, breaking national boundaries, and bringing together younger and established galleries.

Art Cologne is an established contemporary art fair, with 200 participating galleries this year from 23 countries, and 60,000 anticipated visitors over five days. The preview will take place on Wednesday, April 15 at noon and the fair will stay open until Sunday.

Katrin Koskaru’s participation in Art Cologne is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture, the European Regional Fund, and the Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center.
